From a boat ride, to Sisi and then "the Kiss"

Love in Vienna

You're wrong if you think Vienna is a classic major city with nothing special in store for those in Love. Vienna offers a lot more than music and the bustle of the big city. You can find many cozy and romantic places to enjoy your time as a couple.

The inner city itself offers many small squares and alleyways, away from the crowds on the Kärntnerstrasse and St Stephan's Cathedral, as well as many beautiful places in the romantic district "Spittelberg" with its well kept houses in the "Biedermeier" style. A special highlight is a visit to the Hermannbad in the Hermanngasse, one of the last public baths in Vienna called "Tröpferlbad" - the "drip bath" by the locals.

Many restaurants like the traditional "Griechenbeisl" as well as the fashionable restaurant "Der Turm" offers candlelight dinners. You can rent an exclusive car on the Ferris Wheel - there are no limits to creativity and romance in Vienna.

For a special treat we suggest ordering a picnic basked filled with delicacies in your hotel and carrying off your sweetheart to the Kahlenberg. This mountain in the city offers quiet and secluded nooks with a breathtaking view, a great place to watch the sunset.

For those that don't like picnics the Kahlenberg offers various Heurige - pubs where you can drink to your sweetheart's health with a glass or two of Gemischter Satz - a Viennese wine specialty. Worth mentioning is the Heurige Sirbu offering a Bench for Lovers where you can drink to your mutual happiness in a quiet spot away from the crowds.

For the sporty we suggest an excursion on the Old Danube. You and your partner can rent a boat along the river and stop in secluded little bays along the way. A special highlight is the Full Moon tour with a bottle of Prosecco included. You can choose between romantic rowing boats, partner friendly pedalos or muscle relaxing electric boats.

Follow the footsteps of the lovers Franz and Sisi - the Austrian Emperor pair and visit the palace of Schönbrunn and the Hofburg to learn more about them.

Also to be found in Vienna is Der Kuss - the kiss. Gustav Klimt devoted one of his most famous works to this ritual of love, now on show in the Belvedere Palace.

Panorama Tours will be happy to help you plan your dream holiday as creatively as possible. Also we have a finished package for your romantic weekend including 3 nights in a 4 star superior hotel as well as a day's entry to the Viennese spa, a candle light dinner and much more!
