Salzburger Mozart Ensemble

Ensembles and soloists of international repute perform works by all the great composers, with special emphasis on Mozart's chamber concert music for an appreciative audience. However, it is not only the concert that makes this a special occasion for the visitor, but also the 900-year-old Fortress because the concerts take place in the Prince's Chamber, one of the most splendid rooms in Salzburg, and commanding a breathtaking view of the town and of it's surrounding countryside. Taking place in the most magnificent room in the city - the Golden Hall in the 900 year-old Fortress Hohensalzburg - the "Mozart - Strauss Orchestra Concerts" are unique to Salzburg. The Mozart Chamber Orchestra of Salzburg is a highly professional and internationally sought-after chamber orchestra and plays in a line-up which regularly shifts in size. Deeply steeped in tradition, it predominantly performs the musical treasures of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss.
