The exhibitions are the perfect complement to your visit to the Original Sound of Music Tour. We have summarized all Sound of Music exhibitions for you:
Schloss Leopoldskron: A special guest exhibition with a lot of history!
From March 22, 2025, a guest exhibition of the Salzburg Museum will take place at Schloss Leopoldskron, an important original location of the film. At the exhibition “Sound of Music Salzburg - Insight and Outlook”, visitors can gain an insight into the filming, the Broadway Musical and the life of the real Trapp family. Exhibits from the Sound of Music collection - including original photos of the real Trapp family and posters from the first two German films that preceded the Hollywood classic “The Sound of Music” - are presented during free guided tours of the palace gallery.

“Dirndl meets Hollywood” at the Salzburger Heimatwerk
From July 3 to September 6, 2025, this exhibition shows how the dirndl gained international fame through film. Original costumes worn by the actors, designs and correspondence will be on display. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 am.
In addition, a special anniversary dirndl will be made, which is based on the dirndl worn by Maria (Julie Andrews) and can be purchased at the Salzburger Heimatwerk. Our guides are already wearing this dirndl on a daily basis.
