Spring shows Salzburg from its most beautiful side. As nature awakens, the magnolia trees on the Markat square burst into flower. Trees and plants bloom in every square and garden. The Mirabell gardens are spectactular with flowerbeds planted in baroque patterns which enchant visitors and locals alike. For you to enjoy natures awakening in this romantic setting we have put together the package "Romance in Salzburg".

In the summer season we will also operate additional sightseeing tours to the Eagles Nest and the famous Giant Ice Caves.

And what is on everybody's mind in the summer in Salzburg? The famous Salzburg Festival of Music! The world's best musicians, singers and conductors come together to perform operas and concerts in the festival halls. Even without going to the performances you can enjoy the amazing atmosphere amongst famous stars, and visitors from all over the world. You can sample delicious cakes in one of our numerous coffee-houses and watch the world go by. Join music lovers in front of the big open air screen transmitting directly from the opera houses.

Enjoy the scenery and relax in our parks or by the side of one of the lakes in the near by lake district.

Autumn brings many trade fairs and congresses. For local colour join us at the Ruperti Kirtag, our annual beer festival celebrating the name day of our patron Saint Rupert. In the squares around the Cathedral you will find many attractions, joy-rides, food, and, of course, a beer tent with traditional music and all the locals in dirndls and lederhosen.

At the end of October the city come with the "Jazz and the city" festival in a wide spread of venues from coffeehouses and bars to concert halls.

As the days grow shorter, the leaves begin to fall and Salzburg is robed in white again, it is time for the Christmas markets in the city and the surrounding villages. Twinkling lights, aromas of cinnamon, gingerbread and mulled wine, traditional handicrafts ad Christmas decorations make this an unforgettable experience. Further information on the Christmas attractions, Advent singing and markets you will find here.
