Experience the southern part of the Vienna Woods
Experience with us many interesting sights of the southern part of Vienna Woods during this half day tour. You will drive from Vienna via the Roman city Baden to the romantic Helenental, where the memorial chapel of Mayerling is located. Here the lives of Crowne Prince Rudolph and Baronesse Vetsera found an unhappy ending.
The next highlight is a guided tour of the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz. The abbey was established in 1133 and is famous for its medieval cloistered courtyard. It also houses the remains of the last descendant of the Babenberger – an important Austrian ruling dynasty in the early middle-ages. In Heiligenkreuz, there will be a short break with coffee and refreshments before the tour continues on to Baden. In Baden you will go on a casual walk around the town with a local guide.
The tour ends at the Vienna State Opera.
